What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Half Human: Spaceship Huey Adventures Book One?

My urban fantasy protagonist was left at the end of the series with the ghost of his ex-lover in his mind for the remainder of his thousand year lifespan. I wanted to see how it would play out in the far future.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Sci-fi, urban fantasy and epic fantasy. I like to write things I’d want to read myself.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

I’ve got a ton of Patricia Briggs, Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong, Michael Anderle, Jerry Boyd, and Jenny Schwartz to catch up on.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

Cliff Crane, undercover in disguise as the manager of a popular boy band, stalls for time by getting a happy ending massage while trying to carry on telepathic communications with two of his exes.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I have a Bassett hound coffee mug. What’s quirky about that? I need my coffee.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Try to stay in the moment. It’s the only place you can truly live.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

Be patient. There’s another one coming soon.
